Believe it or not, there's a little vainglory in all of us- the males of the species included. Our casual, laid-back shooting style is perfect for those guys who loathe the idea of posing or smiling at the camera. And without a doubt, when the shoot is finished, I always hear "that was so much more fun that I thought it was going to be!" I know- I tried to tell you! Invest in images of your youth and beauty- no matter who you are!









Adding props doesn't have to be as cheesy as it sounds! Props are a great way to add more bits of the subject's personality to the image, showcase important hobbies or career aspirations, and give the subject something to fiddle with during the shoot.

The Many Faces of Jon Broder

Here are more photos from my recent New Orleans trip. Jon Broder is a wacky and wonderful playwright with whom I had the pleasure of being co-artist-in-residence at the French Quarter chateau of a dear old friend. Our initial intent was to cover a little bit more ground in our photo session, but as we rolled out of our beds after our Saturday afternoon nappy naps, we only had a wee bit of daylight left and thus spent our small shooting time on the balcony. Winston-Salem Maternity Shoot

I recently spent a cold and rainy day safely tucked inside for a location maternity shoot. I love photographing in client's homes, because you never know who's going to show up for a shot!

One can bet that Faye is excited enough about the arrival of her first child in two weeks, but I thought I'd pump up the excitement a notch by posting a few pics from our shoot.

I love shooting senior pictures! It reminds me of my teenage years, dragging my friends all over town in wacky clothes for weekend photo shoots. I recently photographed Katie in the French Quarter of New Orleans in some of my favorite locations. I'd say this young lady is ready to take on the world!
