As much as I love shooting in new and exciting locations, there is definitely something to be said for popping out one's back door in one's bare feet and shooting a few rolls (digitally speaking) around the little corner of the globe we call home. I've been sitting on these shots for a while, because we couldn't risk the groom blog-spying on the bride in her gown before the big day!
Thankfully, the big day arrived yesterday, so this morning I get to unveil the gorgeous Lindsay, larking about Bag End (the name given to our house and property by Scott, after Bilbo Baggins's house in The Hobbit). Hopefully you'll agree the place was named appropriately when you see the following shots:
I asked Lindsay to bring a couple of props if she so desired to add some whimsy to her shoot. This Indianette Jones (she's an archaeologist!) brought along a couple of her digging tools:
And, being in North Carolina, we executed the traditional, bride against a neutral background pose. (That chair was from my first Manhattan apartment in 2001. It then moved to Los Angeles and New Orleans before making it's home in the makeup room here).
I had a blast during the shoot, and am thrilled that Lindsay went along with every crazy idea that came to mind. I also must note- this dress required no cleaning after the shoot! We were very gentle.
